First of all, we need to start explaining what is a capsule wardrobe? Basically  It’s a wardrobe made up of  versatile pieces that you can combine in different styles. And something great about this method is that you can forget about the cliche ” I don’t have anything to wear”, because you only need understand which pieces go better we the other ones and create the perfect style for every moment in your life with only 37 pieces that includes tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and shoes.

What should be your first step?

Your first step for get a  rentable  and useful closet is clean and organize it . Take absolutely everything out of your closet and lay it out on your bed. Then start putting everything in piles that we will denominate as :  Love It,  in that case we refer to those  items that you wear always or you feel that you can take advantage of it , Maybe, those that you are not to sure, Nope -we don’t need explain this one, but keep in mind that this is the clothes you should donate. And the last one is Seasonal, put in that pile everything that you use for specific moments in the year as your winter coat.

What is next ?

After separating your clothes into sections and determining what you want to keep, what you should do is evaluate what pieces you need in your wardrobe. And by the way, if you are not sure about  some of the clothes you clean out, you can simply store them instead, and later if you realize you miss something you can go grab it.

Before you immerse yourself in the shopping world again, I suggest that you review some styles on Pinterest or online, that serve to you as a model or inspiration for the pieces you already have. Remember, at this point we want to avoid compulsive and emotional shopping, the idea is to have fun but at the same time we want to stay focused on what we really need.

My personal Opinion

This works? Yes, but it’s a matter of organizing, I don’t think we need so much clothes and much less be buying every month. Honestly, I organize my wardrobe based on two big purchases a year, where I buy specific pieces for my birthday and Christmas,- and of course we are talking about pieces that I need to change in my wardrobe, either because the ones  I have are old and worn out, or because there is an specific garment that I need and I know I will give it enough use , for example a new rain coat-.

So far, it may sound a bit complicated, but believe me! you can survive with 40 pieces  in your wardrobe and look stylish. The secret is to know how to combine and  how to use the accessories. Besides being able to find what suits you and what is your true style.

Was this helpful? I would love to hear any tips you have for me, and of course I want to know your experience trying to create the perfect capsule wardrobe
